Job Title: Licensed BCIN Designer

Job Descriptions:

New Beginnings Contracting Services is currently seeking a Licensed BCIN Designer.

Job Duties

  • You will be working with clients along side our management team to bring projects from ideas to permit ready plans
  • You will be working on mainly residential construction projects ranging from existing home remodels and additions to full new home plans and multi unit projects
  • You will be developing site plans using zoning bi laws and urban design guidelines
  • You will be working in a combination of the office, show room, and onsite • You will have regular interactions with engineers and architects, to work through the design process
  • You will be sourcing and integrating new building products and systems into our designs
  • You will be preparing interior and exterior elevations, with finishes
  • You will be liaising between the local municipality and our company to expedite permit processes

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Construction or Architectural Engineering Technology or BCIN certification in “House” or “Small Buildings”
  • Minimum 5 years drafting experience • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Softplan and MS Office
  • Comprehensive knowledge & understanding of the Ontario Building Code
  • Understanding of residential housing construction practices • Ability to work independently or in a team setting
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • High level of communication skills
  • High level of math skills

Job Title: Experienced Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing crew of builders. This position requires a knowledgeable candidate, who is comfortable reading site plans, sketches, and blueprints. These plans will then result in the construction of wooden structures and supports.

Job Duties:

  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring and installing walls and roofing systems
  • Fitting and installing trim, doors, moulding and hardware
  • Experience framing
  • Measuring, cutting, and joining materials made of wood or wood substitutes
  • Repairing and renovating wooden structures
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned by management team

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Carpenter for 5+ years
  • In-depth knowledge of framing installation
  • Good time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver

Job Title: Experienced Framer Residential and/or Commercial (Benefits)

Job Descriptions:

We are seeking an experienced Framer to join our growing team of builders.

Job Duties

  • Measure materials or distances, using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay work.
  • Cut or saw boards, timber, or plywood to required size, using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machines.
  • Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure, using bolts, nails, or screws.
  • Anchor and brace forms and other structures in place, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers.
  • Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, hoists, roof supports, or chutes, using tools, plumb rule and level.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Cut metal framing and trim to size, using cutting tools.
  • Daily clean-up of jobsite.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned by management team.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of construction/carpentry experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with hand and power carpentry tools and other construction equipment.
  • Be able to kneel, bend, stand, stoop, and stretch for long periods of time.
  • Lift and maneuver heavy, oversized wall board.
  • Work at heights
  • Team player
